Core Purpose of the Manager
To drive the growth and sustainability of the formal merchant segment by leading the design, acquisition, and retention strategies within the MoMo Pay platform, ensuring alignment with MTN Uganda's commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- To develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams and third-party vendors to drive formal merchant growth.
- Coordinate marketing campaigns and promotions to support business growth.
- Oversee key merchant processes (e.g., onboarding, liquidation) in alignment with targets and audiences.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address and resolve merchant complaints, implementing continuous improvement frameworks.
- Monitor product performance and pricing strategies to ensure cost effectiveness, profitability, and product uptake.
- Lead acquisition and retention strategies to increase Monthly Active Users (MAU30) and reduce churn.
- To use data-driven insights to inform product development, strategic planning, and sector specific initiatives.
Experience
The Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Customer Experience, or the Fintech industry.
The candidate should also have a proven track record in execution, supervision, and translating energy into actionable plans.
Having knowledge on Payment Systems Organization is a bonus.
Education
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Should be able to operate Microsoft Office well, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Any form of certification in Digital Finance or related areas is a strong advantage.
Training
After screening, the successful candidate shall undergo training in;
